Description

Dear Prospective Player, Éire Óg invites you to play with us! Learn more about Hurling/Camogie, try a demo, or stop by a practice. We’ve enjoyed playing in national, regional, and international games, and developing a healthy and inclusive sporting community. We would like you to join us!

ABOUT US Deemed the fastest sport played on grass, Hurling and Camogie can best be described as Ireland’s mix of lacrosse and field hockey. Our club brought the sports to the Ottawa Region in 2012 and it just keeps growing! In 2019, we trained our athletes for success and brought Canada to the Gaelic Athletic World Games for the very first time in these codes. Our Youth team claimed another victory by winning the North American Championships.

WHY WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO TRAIN WITH US We want Team Canada back at the 2022 World Games, and to defend our Senior and Youth titles – and we want you to join us! Our sports are similar, so come give it a try. We want to welcome and train athletes from similar sports to develop our skills, broaden our game strategies, and learn something new about other sports.

We are getting attention, and want to build on the momentum: Éire Óg won the 2018 and 2019 Eastern Canadian Championship (Men); the 2019 Continental Youth Championship (Youth); the 2019 Heritage Cup (Men); and, made half of Team Canada at the 2019 World Games (Men and Women).WHAT DOES TRAINING LOOK LIKE We train 1 hour per week, year-round. We run a Winter house-league from January to April, and play games May through October. Player fees are $150 per year, and equipment is available for practice or purchase.

If you are interested in learning more, or in joining our club, please contact us and we would be happy to help!
