The Petawawa Predators Swim Club is in action today as they continue training for upcoming competitions!
These swimming athletes have been training consistently and safely throughout the Pandemic. The swimming athletes have shown resilience, persistence, and patience with adapting to the new covid regulations. They have all stayed motivated and focused throughout this past year.
The Petawawa Predators Swim Club’s training environment had to be adjusted to meet the covid regulations and standards provided by Swim Ontario. Some of the changes include; a safety training plan for the proper distance between each athlete, elimination of coaching sessions provided on deck, and the restriction of parents and fans in the stadium.
The Petawawa Predators Swim Club coaches have pushed their athletes to stay in shape to be ready for when competitions resume. They have consistently kept up with technical training and specific drills based on the level of the athlete. The younger swimming athletes have also been striving to achieve higher levels for themselves in the club.
As for competitions, The Petawawa Predators Swim Club will be hosting their first swim meet event on March 27, 2021, at Dundonald Hall in Petawawa. All covid regulations will still be in place so unfortunately spectators will be restricted.
We, at Ottawa Valley Sports, want to wish the best of luck to all the competitors and are so pleased that the athletes will be able to put their hard work to play!
